New Products for 2009

We are very pleased with our new Fig and Plum Relish. It has already been awarded a silver medal in the Taste of the West awards in time for its official launch at the Speciality and Fine Food Fair at Olympia, London 6th – 8th September 2009.

Kitchen Garden new product - Fig and Plum Relish

It is a great accompaniment to all kinds of cheese (we particularly like it with strong blue cheeses) as well as cold meats and pies. We also added half a jar to a lamb tagine with fantastic results!

Our new Gooseberry Chutney is based on a recipe from Barbara’s mother which has always been a family favourite. Its tangy flavour makes it a great accompaniment to smoked mackerel, cold meats (particularly lamb) and all types of cheese.

Our new Port and Redcurrant Sauce (often called Cumberland or Oxford Sauce), is a traditional accompaniment to gammon or game. This would make a very nice addition to a Christmas hamper!

Our new label design has been very well received, and we have now rolled this out to a new range of Large Gift Jars which are being launched in time for Christmas, but will be available all year round.

Almost twice the size of our normal 250ml jar, they make a great gift or table centre piece for special occasions.

We have been enjoying working with Vale Heritage Trust based in Evesham – a charity whose mission is to save and protect old fruit orchards and the traditional varieties associated with the area.  As a result, we are pleased to announce that we will be launching Single Variety Plum Jams.  ‘Heron’, Yellow Egg’, ‘Victoria’, and Marjorie Seedling Jam as well as Blaisdon using plums from other orchards in Gloucestershire.  For details of Vale Heritage Trust, visit their website here.
